A través de la Resolución SICyM 92/98 the gobierno Argentino ha establecido los requisitos de Certificación
de Seguridad para todos los productos y materiales eléctricos con tensión nominal de hasta 1.000 Vca o
1.500 Vcc.

El Organismo de Regulación para esta Actividad es
la Dirección Nacional de Comercio Interior (DNCI) a
través de su Dirección de Lealtad Comercial (DLC).

Este Organismo ha reconocido 8 Organismos de Certificación y 10 Laboratorios de Ensayo. Todos ellos deben estar acreditados por el Organismo Argentino
de Acreditación (OAA).

Los Organismos de Certificación (todos asentados en Argentina) son responsables por emitir los Certificados válidos para la Resolución 92/98.

Los Certificados son alcanzados mediante un ensayo en Argentina de acuerdo a normas IEC o IRAM, o a través
de reconocimiento de certificados emitidos en el exterior por ciertos Organismos de Certificación.

Un Certificado de Seguridad Eléctrica puede cubrir una familia de productos.

Estos Certificados son requeridos por la Aduana para permitir que los productos sean ingresados al país.
Los Certificados deben ser mantenidos de acuerdo a la Resolución 96/03. Para este mantenimiento, se envían muestras a laboratorio para ensayos de seguridad,
cada 6 o 12 meses.

Los productos certificados deben contar con el sello
de Seguridad “S”.

Existen 3 sistemas de certificación disponibles:

- Certificación por Marca (requiere inspección de fábrica)
- Certificación de Tipo (no requiere inspección de fábrica, pero los ensayos de mantenimiento son más frecuentes)
- Certificación por Lote

Algunos Productos de Telecomunicaciones están exceptuados de Certificación. Sin embargo, éstos deben cumplir con una Declaración Jurada de conformidad llamada Formulario B. Este documento es requerido
por Aduana.

Through the Resolution SICyM 92/98 the government of Argentina established the requirement of Safety Certification for all electric products and materials with nominal voltage up to 1,000 Vac or 1,500 Vdc.


The Regulatory Agency for this activity is the National Agency for Domestic Trade (DNCI) through its National Direction of Commercial Loyalty (DLC).

This Agency has recognized 8 Certification Bodies and about 10 testing labs. All of them must be accredited by Argentina Accreditation Body (OAA).


The Certification Bodies (all addressed in Argentina) are responsible for issuing the Certificates valid for Resolution 92/98.

The Certificates are obtained through testing in Argentina according IEC or IRAM safety standards, or recognition of certificates issued by certain abroad Certification Agencies.


A Safety Certificate can cover a family of products.


These Certificates are requested by Customs to allow products to be imported into Argentina.
The Certificates must be maintained according to Resolution 96/03. For the maintenance, samples are sent to labs for safety tests every 6 or 12 months.

Products that are certified must be labeled with the S-Mark.


There are 3 certification systems available:

- Mark Certification (factory inspection required)
- Type Certification (no factory inspection but more frequent surveillance tests)
- Batch Certification

Some Telecom and other products are exempt of Certification. However they must comply with standardized affidavit of Safety compliance called Form B. This documents is required by Customs.
